Ushakov spoke about Putin's work schedule for SPIEF 2025

Russian President Vladimir Putin's work schedule at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF 2025) will be busy, with politicians from almost 50 countries expected to attend the important event this year. This was announced on June 17 by presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.
"The main thing is that this St. Petersburg Forum, like the Eastern One, is held under the patronage of the President of Russia and, as a rule, gathers world leaders, heads of large Russian and foreign companies with the ranks of leading experts, including representatives of science, the media, civil society and so on," Ushakov said.
He noted that this year's 28th forum will be held under the motto "Common values are the foundation for growth in a multipolar world." The guest country of the event is Bahrain, which will send a representative delegation of about 80 people, led by the son of the King of Bahrain, Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
"The fact that the king's son is coming to us, despite the sharply aggravated situation in the Middle East region, suggests that the king is sending him, no matter what. Thus, it underlines the importance of maintaining contacts with the Russian Federation in a tense situation," the Russian presidential aide added.
The central event of the forum will be the plenary session on June 20, at which the Russian leader always speaks. Putin's speech, as usual, will touch upon an assessment of the current situation in the Russian economy, then the president will share his view on the state of affairs in the global economy and politics. Along with him on stage will be Indonesian Leader Prabowo Subianto, Vice Chairman of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Ding Xuexiang, Vice President of South Africa Paul Mashatile, as well as a representative of Bahrain.
In addition, on June 18, as part of SPIEF 2025, Putin will have a conversation with the president of the New Development Bank (NDB), former Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff. They will discuss the bank's future strategy — the results of the Russian presidency in 2024, as well as the launch of a new investment platform to strengthen international positions. In the evening, a traditional meeting will be held with the heads of international news agencies.
The next day, the Russian leader will hold full-scale talks with his Indonesian counterpart Subianto, who will make his first visit to Russia after assuming the post of head of state. First, the presidents will meet in a narrow format, then they will hold talks as part of the delegations in the format of an official breakfast. Following their results, a brief ceremony of signing bilateral agreements — the declaration on strategic partnership and others — will take place, after which the leaders will make a statement to the media.
"During the talks, both issues of the development of bilateral relations and topical issues of bilateral relations will be discussed. Indonesia is a time—tested and reliable friend," Ushakov said.
In the evening of the same day, a meeting is scheduled with the Vice President of the Republic of South Africa (RSA), Paul Mashatile. On June 20, Vladimir Putin will meet with Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Adviser and Commander of the Royal Guard of the Kingdom of Bahrain. They will touch upon issues on the bilateral agenda and the worsening situation in the Middle East.
Next, the Russian president will meet with member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Deputy Chairman of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Ding Xuexiang. In addition, the Russian leader will have a telephone conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping this week, the aide said. On the evening of June 20, Putin is scheduled to have a brief conversation with OPEC Secretary General Haysam Al-Gais.
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2025) will be held from June 18 to 21. The heads of the CSTO, OPEC, SCO and other organizations will also take part in it.
On June 10, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced a speech by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the SPIEF plenary session on Friday, June 20. He refused to reveal the moderator of the discussion and talk about surprises at the upcoming forum.
Prior to that, on June 9, the Russian leader sent greetings to the SPIEF 2025 participants. In his address, the President stressed the importance of the forum as an authoritative international platform bringing together politicians, representatives of business, scientific and expert circles from many countries.
