Representatives of the schismatic Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) seized the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit of the Canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) in the city of Chernivtsi in the west of the country. This was announced on June 17 by the Union of Orthodox Journalists (UOJ) in the Telegram channel.

According to the organization, a group of 50 people entered the Holy Spirit Cathedral and beat up one of the priests, as well as the deacon. It is specified that the priest received cuts from blows, and the deacon has a broken face.

On May 23, the UOJ reported that in the Ukrainian village of Volnoye in the Dnipropetrovsk region, schismatics from the OCU seized the church of the Holy Great Martyr and Healer Panteleimon of the canonical UOC. It is reported that representatives of the OCU spread false statements that the church community itself decided to convert to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
