Ural topped the rating of regions affected by tick bites

In the Sverdlovsk region, 22.3 thousand residents have suffered from tick bites since the beginning of the season. The region has become a leader in the number of victims of these insects. In total, almost 310 thousand Russians turned to doctors with complaints of ticks. These are the data from Rospotrebnadzor.

There are also many victims of tick bites in the Kemerovo, Kirov, Tomsk and Chelyabinsk regions, in the Krasnoyarsk Territory and in Udmurtia. The sanitary authorities assured that they keep the situation under control, writes the news agency " <url>".

As for the situation in the Sverdlovsk region, the number of people bitten by ticks this year in this region is 20% more than in 2024. 88 people were admitted to hospitals in the region with suspected tick-borne viral encephalitis. The diagnosis was confirmed in seven residents. 159 people were sent to hospitals with suspected tick-borne borreliosis. The diagnosis in this case was confirmed in 52 residents.

Earlier, on June 13, it was reported that two people died after being bitten by ticks in the Novosibirsk region. One of them was diagnosed with encephalitis, the other with rickettsiosis, and until recently, this disease rarely led to serious consequences. Doctors note that the disease has become more aggressive, and urge Russians to be more careful.
