Russian customs officers found more than 40 kg of natural human hair in the luggage of a 37-year-old foreign woman who arrived in Russia on a flight from Dubai (United Arab Emirates, UAE). This was announced on June 17 by the Federal Customs Service (FCS).
According to experts, the cost of the cargo is approximately 4.3 million rubles. The passenger walked through the "green" corridor with her luggage, stating that she did not know anything about the need to declare the cargo.
"During the inspection, the inspectors found more than 200 bundles of long hair of different colors in two suitcases. The woman told the customs officers that she was transporting products by agreement to a beauty salon for hair extensions to clients," the agency's website says.
In the case of an administrative offense under Part 1 of Article 16.2 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation ("Non-declaration of goods"), the woman will have to pay a fine.
On May 22, it was reported that FCS officers found more than 15.6 kg of cocaine in a truck with floral products that arrived from Ecuador. According to law enforcement officials, such a batch of drugs costs about 200 million rubles on the black market. It was established that the recipient of the cargo was a Colombian citizen. A criminal case has been opened under clauses "a" and "b" of Part 4 of Article 229.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Smuggling of narcotic drugs committed by an organized group on an especially large scale").
