On June 22, REN TV will show Igor Prokopenko's new documentary PARALLELS

In the two-part film "PARALLELS", its author Igor Prokopenko will demonstrate who is actually the customer of the long-standing confrontation between Europe and Russia. The project is based on exclusive interviews recorded in 1993 with Pavel Sudoplatov (1907-1996), Lieutenant General of the NKVD of the USSR. For the first time, the legendary Soviet intelligence officer sheds light on the details of our country's secret operations, of which he was a direct participant.
It is obvious that the war started by the collective West against Russia in the First World War is still being waged. And the parties interested in the collapse of our country are the same as they were a century ago. A clear confirmation of this is the fact that the methods of fighting Russia have not changed over the past decades.
The historical investigation begins in 1918, when Soviet Russia found itself in international isolation and unprecedented economic sanctions were imposed against it. Immediately after the revolution, the paper ruble was almost worthless in Russia, just as it was in the post–perestroika 1991 year. This was used by British agent Sidney Reilly (a native of Odessa, Sigmund Rosenblum), who recruited the leadership of the Latvian Riflemen, the Kremlin's security units, the equivalent of the Federal Security Service of that time, to overthrow the government. The collective West placed the main stake in this operation on Leon Trotsky. According to Pavel Sudoplatov, the Trotskyists advocated the separation of Ukraine from the Soviet Union and its transformation into an independent bourgeois state. The film will tell you why France's attempt to turn Ukraine into its own protectorate failed.
The authors of the project will reveal the plans of the alliance of the armed forces of England and France to destroy strategic objects of the USSR on the threshold of the Great Patriotic War and the actions of Soviet intelligence, which were able to prevent them.
Viewers will learn how Moscow managed to prevent the creation of a fascist Ukraine led by the leader of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists, Yevhen Konovalets, and its entry into the war against the USSR on the side of Hitler. Pavel Sudoplatov will share the details of a risky operation that Stalin personally instructed him to enter the circle of Konovalets' most trusted people and eliminate him.
Russia is facing the same threats today as it did a century ago. For what reason do modern Western politicians, like their predecessors in 1918, reiterate the need for Russia's defeat by supporting Ukraine? What lessons should be learned from history to prevent mistakes from happening again?
The documentary "PARALLELS" will be broadcast on Sunday, June 22, at 23:55, on REN TV.
