Residents of Donetsk, who survived the new shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), said that they heard at least six blows on the city, after the first one, glass immediately began to fly out of apartment windows. Footage from the scene on June 17 is published by Izvestia.
The enemy struck in the morning, around 9:00 a.m., Kirova Street in the Leninsky district of the city came under fire.
"Here is one of the affected houses, the windows in the apartments and in the entryways were blown out. Casualties are also reported. According to eyewitnesses, there were six strikes on the city, and rescue and utility services are currently working on the site," correspondent Danil Yemelyanov said.
As local resident Georgy noted, the explosion after the first strike by the Ukrainian Armed Forces was the most powerful.
"The explosion was strong right away, and then there were three claps after that. The first explosion was very strong, and the ground trembled. And then three claps are weak at all," said the man.
According to preliminary data, about six houses were damaged. Shell fragments are scattered all around them.
On the same day, the mayor of the city, Alexei Kulemzin, reported that 10 people were injured after the shelling of the Leninsky district of Donetsk by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Emergency crews are working at the scene. Later, the head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, clarified that the number of victims had increased to 14 people. All people receive the necessary medical care. In addition, utilities were also damaged and an apartment building was destroyed.
