There have been 310 road accidents in Russia over the past 24 hours.

Over the past day, 310 road accidents have occurred on Russian roads, in which 27 people were killed and 383 injured. 22 of the dead were passengers and drivers. This was reported to Izvestia on June 17 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

As a result of 70 accidents, 23 of which occurred at pedestrian crossings and 47 outside their area of operation, five pedestrians were killed, and 66 more were injured in various degrees of severity. Among the injured were 15 child pedestrians, 10 of whom were injured when crossing the roadway outside the designated areas.

25 accidents involving buses were recorded, in which three people were killed, and 35 more road users, including two children, needed medical help. 12 bus accidents were caused by traffic violations committed by their drivers.

So, in the Vladimir region at night on 290 km of the federal highway M-7 Volga, a 39-year—old driver of an intercity bus carrying 51 passengers on the Cheboksary - Moscow route did not slow down in time and crashed into three passing cars standing in front of him at a traffic light.

As a result of an accident in one of them (a minivan), three passengers were killed. The driver and six passengers from the same vehicle, as well as the driver of the second car and the passenger of the third, received minor injuries and, after receiving medical attention, were sent for outpatient treatment. Previously, the cause of the incident was that the bus driver fell asleep at the wheel.

Also, over the past day, 48 accidents involving minors were registered, in which 57 young road users were injured, including 21 passengers, four cyclists and 12 motor transport drivers. One child passenger was killed.

In the Saratov region, on 388 km of the FAD R-228 Syzran — Saratov — Volgograd, a 67-year-old crossover driver drove into the oncoming lane in a prohibited place, where he collided with a passenger car. The 59-year-old driver and three passengers of the second car were killed, including a three-year-old boy who was in his mother's arms in the back seat at the time of the collision. Another young passenger of this vehicle, a 13—year-old schoolboy who was sitting next to them in the back seat without using a seat belt, was hospitalized with injuries. The elderly driver of the crossover and his passenger also ended up in the hospital.

The State Traffic Inspectorate urged motorists to transport children in strict accordance with current safety regulations. Driving skills, driving experience, well—being and law-abiding driving behavior depend on the life and health of other road users, including the most vulnerable category - children.

Strictly observe the rules of the road and driving discipline. Keep a distance between vehicles and do not exceed the permitted speed limit. In case of rain on wet roads, be sure to slow down to the minimum values and turn on the headlights even during the daytime. Be attentive, collected, careful and do not be distracted while driving, controlling the traffic situation," Police Colonel Sergey Hrantskevich, head of the Department for road Safety Promotion and Prevention of child traffic injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, told Izvestia.

The day before, it was reported that the number of people killed in road accidents in Russia has decreased with an increase in the number of accidents. So, from January to May 2025, 44.4 thousand deaths occurred in Russia. Accidents with deaths or injuries, which is 0.7% more than in the same period last year. The number of dead in them amounted to 4.6 thousand people (-1.9%), and the wounded — 55.7 thousand people (+0.5%).
