- The media reported on Trump's intention to achieve a solution to Iran's nuclear program

US President Donald Trump has said he wants to achieve a "real solution" to Iran's nuclear program, rather than a temporary cease-fire between Israel and Iran. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on June 17.
"Trump stated that he wants a "real solution" to the nuclear issue with Iran, and indicated that he could send senior American officials to a meeting with the Islamic Republic, as the escalation of the conflict between Israel and Iran continues for the fifth day in a row," the material says.
According to the agency, Trump suggested that the US special envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, or the country's vice president, Jay Dee Vance, could go to Iran for talks.
On June 16, Iranian President Masoud Peseshkian said that the state would continue negotiations with the United States only if Israel's attacks stopped. He also noted that during the negotiations on the nuclear program, the United States promised Iran that Israel would not take any action without their permission.
