The Soul of Russia pavilion, an exhibition of the Roscongress Foundation's sociocreative platform, the Innosocium Foundation, created with the support of the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives, will be opened as part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The space will feature projects implemented in the regions of Russia in the field of creative industries, startups and enterprises that revive, support and develop brands and crafts based on the cultural code, as well as works by contemporary Russian artists and designers. The stand will host sessions, public talks, interactive guided tours, neural network surveys and quizzes on the development of creative industries, culture, education and social initiatives.
"The Soul of Russia Project is an initiative aimed at preserving, popularizing and interpreting the cultural heritage of the peoples of the Russian Federation. Its events serve as a universal platform for dialogue between members of the creative community. The opening of the stand at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum highlights the importance of the project as a gathering point for cultural initiatives and secures its status as a driver for the development of creative industries. I am sure that the exposition will allow the Forum participants to fully get acquainted with the creative potential of modern Russia in the light of the country's rich centuries–old culture, and the discussions will help to form an up-to-date socio-creative context and determine its prospects," said Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of Russia, Executive Secretary of the SPIEF Organizing Committee.
The stand will present vivid examples of collaborations of modern brands and traditional crafts, projects symbolizing the traditions and cultural code of the peoples of the Russian North, the Caucasus, the Volga region, the South, the Urals, the Far East, and Central Russia. In the Soul of Russia pavilion, one can see the new collection of Khokhloma by Alena Akhmadullina, works by the Honored Artist of Russia, sculptor Dasha Namdakov, caskets and caskets from the Fedoskino Lacquer Miniature Factory, Art-Via author's porcelain in collaboration with the fashion house of Tatiana Parfenova. The exhibition will include works by Gennady Raishev, the brightest master of modern national fine art of the indigenous peoples of Siberia, products from the ceramics art laboratory "Russian Symbols", handmade carpets by Dagestani craftsmen, new forms of Sysert porcelain, silk shawls with original ornaments from the Fashion House Aishat Kadyrova, samples of Mikhailovsky lace, cotton toys from the Moscow Toy Manufactory, projects of the Antifragility creative laboratory, the Maskaga Art Residence, the Print-a-Porter textile IT platform, products from the Imperial Jewelry House Russian Gems, the Tatar interior brand Tatar Home and other exhibits.
They will also present more than 50 unique creative projects from different regions of the country, implemented with the support of the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives. These include expositions and festivals, documentaries and digital educational platforms, works of folk crafts and modern design, educational platforms with video games from domestic developers, and architectural and immersive installations dedicated to the Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The Soul of Russia Pavilion was designed by architect Alexander Plotkin under the supervision of Honored Architect of the Russian Federation, Professor of the International Academy of Architecture Vladimir Plotkin. The eco-friendly wood and steel construction symbolizes the harmony of nature and modern design. The stand is decorated with ornaments of the peoples of Russia, which are reinterpreted as structural graphic codes.
The pavilion will become a place for discussing topical issues of the sociocreative agenda. The program of the space will include discussions on charitable and humanitarian cooperation within the framework of BRICS, the formation of an inclusive space, the creation of conditions for the self-realization of young people through cooperation between business, government and non-profit organizations, the role of traditional values in shaping national identity, cybersecurity and other topics.
The winners of the VII All-Russian Student competition of social projects "Innosocium", which gathered more than 1300 applications from 79 regions of Russia, will also be awarded at the site. There will be an open studio at the stand, which will be attended by representatives of government authorities and creative industries.
The pavilion was created with the support of the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives and PJSC PSB Bank.
"Soul of Russia" is an umbrella project for more than 190 peoples of Russia. It embodies the country's civilizational mission and aims to use creative industries and new socio-cultural technologies to adapt traditions and heritage to a modern language understandable to children and youth, and to show the value of sustainable, harmonious development.
This year's St. Petersburg International Economic Forum will be held from June 18 to 21.
