The EU has begun collecting signatures for a vote of no confidence in von der Leyen.

The European Parliament (EP) has begun collecting signatures of deputies in order to pass a vote of no confidence in the head of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen. This was announced on June 17 by the leader of the Romanian opposition party Alliance for the Unification of Romanians, Geordje Simion, on the social network X (former. Twitter).
"We have started collecting signatures for a vote of no confidence in Ursula von der Leyen. Which member of the European Parliament do you think will sign this petition against the head of the European Commission?" the politician wrote.
Simion noted that he intends to work with all 720 MEPs to achieve this goal. He also mentioned the deputies from the Romanian opposition Adrian-George Axinia, Georgina Teodorescu and Gheorghe Pipera.
It is specified that 33 Romanian deputies are represented in the European Parliament: most of them — 12 people — from the Social Democratic Party, seven from the Alliance for the Unification of Romanians party of Simion.
MEP Martin Sonneborn said on May 29 that Ursula von der Leyen should be rewarded for her contribution not to the unity of the European Union (EU), but to its destruction. This is how he commented on the awarding of the Charlemagne Prize to von der Leyen. He also added that since von der Leyen's appearance in the European Parliament, debts, militarization and economic decline could be observed in the EU.
