Lawyer arrested in Moscow on suspicion of murder over real estate

Lawyer Sergei Zuev was arrested in Moscow on suspicion of murder over real estate. This was reported on June 17 in the press service of the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the capital.

"No later than October 20, 2024, Zuev, being on the territory of a country house located in the Solnechnogorsk district of the Moscow region, came into conflict with his acquaintance on the basis of disagreements about the sale of property to him," the Telegram channel says.

It is specified that during the dispute, the lawyer inflicted at least three blows to the victim's heart. The man died on the spot from his injuries.

According to the investigation, Zuev's friend was nearby, who did not know about the incident, but helped move the body of the deceased into the car and hide the traces of the crime. They then burned the body in a cremation oven on a cattle farm owned by Zuev. Subsequently, an accomplice was involved in the case, who, on the instructions of a lawyer, sold the victim's property in the amount of more than 5 million rubles.

"During the coordinated work of the investigators of the capital's Investigative Committee and operational law enforcement officers, all the defendants in the criminal case were identified and detained. They have been charged and a preventive measure has been chosen in the form of detention," the GSU of the Investigative Committee of Russia in Moscow added.

Depending on their role, the defendants are charged under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code (murder), Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code ("Fraud committed on an especially large scale"), part 2 of Article 316 of the Criminal Code ("Concealment of particularly serious crimes").
