Sobyanin spoke about the modernization of Moscow's energy supply system

By the end of the year, four thermal power plants will be modernized in Moscow and the historic substations Tsentralnaya and Raushskaya will be reconstructed. There are also plans to upgrade more than 350 km of cable lines and lay over 80 km of backup lines for distribution and transformer substations, said the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin.
"This year we are focused on improving the efficiency and safety of the energy system, creating additional reserves of capacity," Sobyanin wrote on his Telegram channel.
In particular, TPP-21, TPP-22, TPP-23, and TPP-25 will be upgraded. According to the mayor of the capital, this will extend the service life of the equipment and reduce specific fuel consumption. The Lebedevo substation in the TiNAO will also be renovated.
Earlier, the Golyanovo substation was reconstructed and the cable lines under the Moskva River, laid 70 years ago, were replaced.
Sobyanin stressed that the modernization of the energy supply system helps ensure the stable operation of Moscow's energy system, which includes 145 thousand km of power transmission lines, 188 supply centers and 23 thousand distribution and transformer substations. At the same time, energy consumption is constantly decreasing, the mayor noted.
A strategy for the development of engineering and communal infrastructure is being implemented in Moscow until 2030. The last decade has been a time of unprecedented growth in the energy efficiency of Moscow's urban economy, Sobyanin said earlier. As a result, according to him, Moscow has the lowest depreciation of utility networks in Russia, and the reserve capacity ranges from 12% for electricity to 56% for water supply.
