The national Russian cuisine has a lot of diverse and delicious dishes. But despite the presence of healthy foods in it, dangerous eating habits that can harm the body are common among Russians. This was announced on June 17 by Oksana Mikhaleva, an endocrinologist, nutritionist at SM Clinic, Candidate of Medical Sciences.

According to her, one of the frequent eating habits among Russians is a heavy meal and further overeating, since in Russian culture it is customary to cover the festive table with a large number of high-calorie dishes.

"And in the usual diet, as a rule, it is customary to eat several dishes at one meal. And the problem is that most of these dishes are quite high in calories. And, accordingly, we have formed such a tradition — to eat abundantly, as they say, to the brim," said the endocrinologist in an interview with the newspaper.Ru».

The second bad habit that occurs in Russia is the love of baking, in particular pies, pies and dumplings, which are traditional for Russians. According to the expert, such food has a very high calorie content and contains easily digestible carbohydrates and starch. She noted that you should not give up these dishes, you just need to know the measure of their use.

Mikhaleva added that another problem is the abundance of meat products in the diet of Russians, especially among older people who cannot imagine their lives without meat gastronomy.

"In addition to high-calorie foods, these products contain a lot of fat in their composition. In addition, meat gastronomy is dangerous because it belongs to the first class of carcinogens according to the classification of the International Agency for Research on Cancer. It also contains a lot of salt, which leads to swelling, fluid retention and increased blood pressure," the doctor said.

In addition, rich soups with a lot of fat are dangerous. Also harmful is the Russians' love of tea drinking, which often does not happen without sugar, syrups and high-calorie snacks.

Evgeny Belousov, a gastroenterologist at JSC "Medicine" (Academician Roitberg Clinic), PhD, told on June 16 that gluten-free products have become a real trend in the wake of the popularity of a healthy lifestyle, filling supermarket shelves. However, before completely eliminating gluten from the diet, it is worthwhile to figure out who really needs it, and for whom it may be useless or even harmful.
