WP has learned about Iran's condition for resuming nuclear negotiations with the United States

Iranian officials have told the mediators they are ready to resume negotiations with the United States on the nuclear issue, provided that the Israeli attacks stop. This was reported by The Washington Post on June 16.

"Iranian officials have told the mediators that they are open to resuming nuclear talks with the United States, but first they want Israel to stop its attacks," the publication said.

According to one of the officials, Tehran "has never left the negotiating table," but negotiations, as he clarified, cannot be continued while Iran is under fire.

The republic's Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Kazem Jalali, spoke about contacts with Russia on the nuclear dossier, the US approaches to the deal and the prospects for concluding an agreement.

CNN reported on June 16 that US President Donald Trump instructed his team to begin organizing a meeting with Iranian officials as a matter of urgency. It was clarified that Trump intends to assess how seriously the Iranian authorities are determined to resolve the conflict through diplomatic means.
