During a television interview on Fox News, US Secretary of the Army Dan Driscoll let slip that a representative of the American Armed Forces was allegedly on the Moon.

"Yesterday we talked with an astronaut who is on the moon, and he is a soldier," the Daily Mail quoted Driscoll as saying.

It is noted that his statement caused a heated discussion on social networks. At the same time, public opinion was divided: some believe that the minister simply misspoke, while others suggested that the Pentagon had begun to expand its presence in space.

The author of the publication, in turn, believes that the minister confused the Moon with the International Space Station (ISS) of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) when he spoke with Colonel Ann McClain, who is aboard the ISS this week.

The Spaceflight Now portal reported on April 16 that the American military industrial concern Northrop Grumman launched the Minotaur 4 rocket into space from the SLC-8 airfield for the first time in almost 14 years. It was clarified that the NROL-174 mission for the US National Directorate of Military Space Intelligence was on board the spacecraft.
