British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Monday, June 16, announced the intention of the G7 countries to discuss further sanctions against Russia.

"But we must make it clear that dialogue is necessary. If this does not happen, sanctions [against Russia] will certainly become part of the discussion at the G7 summit," the British Sky News channel quoted him as saying.

In addition, on the way to the summit, the Prime Minister noted that the conference is an opportunity for a comprehensive discussion of global security with allies in a constructive manner.

On June 17, on the sidelines of the G7 summit, US President Donald Trump noted his unwillingness to tighten sanctions against Russia, as he hopes to reach agreements on Ukraine.
