American leader Donald Trump on Monday, June 16, expressed confidence that Iran would sign an agreement with the United States on nuclear development.

"And, as I said, I think the deal will be signed. Or something will happen. But the deal will be signed. And I think Iran is being stupid by not signing it," he told reporters on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Canada.

At the same time, Trump did not answer the question of whether he wants regime change in Iran. The head of the White House said only that he did not want Tehran to possess nuclear weapons.

"I do not want to see any nuclear weapons in Iran, and we are on the right track to ensure that this is the case," the American leader said.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said on June 15 that Iran is ready to conclude an agreement that guarantees the republic's absence of nuclear weapons. At the same time, he noted that if the purpose of the agreement is to deprive Iran of its nuclear rights, then Tehran will not agree to such a deal.
