Paris and Sofia have signed a framework agreement for the purchase of radars and air defense systems from the French company Thales. This was announced on June 16 by French Defense Minister Sebastian Lecorny.

"We are initiating with Bulgaria a program for the joint acquisition of surveillance and air defense radars manufactured by Thales Group," the Minister of Defense wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

It was clarified that the signing of the framework agreement took place on the sidelines of a bilateral meeting with Bulgarian Defense Minister Atanas Zapryanov at the Paris Air Show.

The Reuters news agency reported earlier in the day that the French authorities had demanded that Israel remove the offensive weapons systems provided to them from the Le Bourget International Aviation Exhibition in Paris on the eve of its opening. Jerusalem, in turn, refused to comply with the demands of the organizers.
