Russian judoka Timur Arbuzov became the world champion in judo in the weight category up to 81 kg. The competition was held on June 16 in Budapest.
Arbuzov defeated Georgian Tato Grigalashvili, a three-time world and European champion. Azerbaijani Zelim Tskaev and South Korean Lee Yong Hwan were declared the bronze medalists.
According to the decision of the executive Committee of the International Judo Federation (IJF), Russian athletes compete in the tournament in a neutral status.
On April 25, Arbuzov won the gold medal at the European Championships in the weight category up to 81 kg. Then the tournament was held in Podgorica, Montenegro.
