Ryabkov noted the danger of Israeli attacks on Iran's nuclear infrastructure

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov on Monday, June 16, warned of the serious risks associated with Israeli strikes on Iran's nuclear infrastructure.
"If so far there have been no serious consequences — we have our own sources of information in this case, of course, and we see that representatives of the IAEA are reporting on this topic — it's just a combination of circumstances, but the risks are too high (for the Bushehr NPP. — Ed.)," Ryabkov told reporters.
He stressed that the Israeli side should be guided by "restraint and common sense." According to the diplomat, attacks on nuclear infrastructure facilities are of serious concern to the international community.
"We are appealing to the Israeli leadership, and what happens next depends crucially on this," Ryabkov added.
He also said that Moscow regards Iran's actions in the current conflict as "self-defense." At the same time, as the Deputy Foreign Minister noted, the settlement should take place through dialogue. Russia, according to Ryabkov, maintains contacts with both sides, but what is happening causes serious concern to the Russian Federation.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on the same day that Russia remains ready to mediate in the conflict between Iran and Israel. He recalled that over the past few days, Russian Leader Vladimir Putin has held a number of telephone conversations, including with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Iranian President Masoud Peseshkian.
