In Vilyuchinsk, vandals defaced figures in a park that had not yet opened

In Vilyuchinsk, Kamchatka, they are preparing to open a new public territory, Avachinsky Park near the Pier. However, even before the opening ceremony, acts of vandalism were recorded.

According to the KamchatkaMedia news agency, with reference to the city administration, cycling, scooters and roller skates are prohibited in the park, but the rule is violated. It is also forbidden to build bonfires, which is also violated by unknown persons. Some sports figures are already ruined.

The park is located in a residential area of Primorsky. It has gazebos for recreation, walking paths, play areas for children, swings, special dog training areas, and a stage for city events.

The Avacha Park improvement project in 2022 became the winner of the All-Russian Competition for projects of small towns and historical settlements of the Ministry of Construction of the Russian Federation. It has been held on the initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin since 2018.

At the beginning of the year, it was reported that the governor of the Kamchatka Territory, Vladimir Solodov, demanded that the head of the regional center responsible for the improvement of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky be removed from his post. Solodov checked the condition of parks, squares, and landscaping facilities in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, after which he demanded that the mayor of the regional capital, Yevgeny Belyaev, dismiss the head responsible for the work of the administration's landscaping department.
