Only a fifth of graduates are confident in the procedure of appealing the results. On June 17, experts from the Umskul educational platform told Izvestia about the rules for filing appeals and retakes, which can help save precious points.

"Among 1,400 graduates, only 20% of schoolchildren confidently know how to file an appeal. Another 73% have heard about this possibility, but are not sure that they would have been able to do it in practice. 7% do not know about this procedure at all. However, knowing your rights can directly affect the final scores," the experts noted.

If problems arise during the exam — technical problems, noise in the classroom, or damage to the forms — the graduate must immediately inform a member of the examination board. To file an appeal about a violation of the procedure, you will need to fill out a special application in the form 2-PPE in two copies. Consideration of such requests takes no more than two working days, and if violations are confirmed, the results are canceled with the possibility of retaking on reserve days.

If a graduate does not agree with the scores, especially for detailed answers, they can file an appeal within two days after the results are published. The application can be submitted online, through the school, or directly to the conflict commission. It is important to remember that the automatically checked test part is not subject to revision.

Since 2024, the rules for retaking have become more flexible: in addition to the mandatory Russian language and mathematics, you can retake one subject of your choice, even if the initial result simply did not suit the graduate. However, it should be borne in mind that the previous result is completely canceled.

"To apply for retake, you must contact the regional examination board (the address is at the school or on the RCOI website), specify the subject and officially reject the previous result. On the day of the exam, it is important to arrive at the point on time and be ready to retake the subject completely," the Umskul clarified.

The main retakes will be held from June 16 to 23, and individual subjects will be available on July 3-4. For those who did not meet the minimum threshold or could not attend the exam for a valid reason, additional deadlines are provided in September. At the same time, violators of the examination procedure and graduates of previous years are not allowed to retake this year.

"The Unified State Exam is not only a test of knowledge, but also of attentiveness. The ability to defend their interests, file appeals, and understand regulations gives students a chance not to lose important points and move confidently towards admission," the experts concluded.

Earlier, on May 17, Alexander Khvostov, director of relations with the educational community of the Admission Navigator forum, told Izvestia about popular mistakes when applying to a university. According to him, choosing a university rather than a specialty can lead to disappointment in studies already in the first years.
