Almost 1.7 million cars have been recalled in Russia in five years.

Almost 1.7 million vehicles have been recalled in Russia as part of recall programs over the past five years. Of these, more than 200 thousand cars of different brands were recalled in 2025, said Anton Shalaev, head of Rosstandart, TASS reported on June 16.

According to Shalaev, there are more manufacturers who voluntarily initiate recall campaigns, coordinate them with Rosstandart, implement them at their own expense and report on the elimination of problems than those with whom they have to act more harshly.

Inspections of automakers are ongoing, and several vehicle models of various brands are currently being studied. Since the checks have not been completed, it is incorrect to list them, the head of Rosstandart pointed out.

On May 30, it was reported that Hyundai Motor CIS was recalling 99.3 thousand Hyundai vehicles in Russia due to the risk of fire. The recall covers the Grandeur, Genesis Coupe, Grand Santa Fe, Veloster, i40, Solaris and Santa Fe models sold between 2010 and 2015.

Prior to that, on April 24, Rosstandart announced the recall of 22.7 thousand Lada Vesta and 24.4 thousand Lada Largus vehicles sold between October 2021 and August 2023.
