"Pedestrians are the most dangerous road users, the most traumatic, more than 3.5 thousand pedestrians die on our country's roads every year, just five years ago this figure was 300-400 more pedestrians," Oleg Ponarin, Deputy head of the Main Directorate for Road Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, said during a press conference held in the press- the Komsomolskaya Pravda Center.

Vadim Melnikov, an expert on the Social Campaign project and a member of the Public Council under the Russian Ministry of Transport, stressed that this year's event covers the entire country. According to him, it is held in 40 regions of the country — from the Far East to Kaliningrad.

The "Safety Promotion" campaign will last until the end of this year and will reach more than 50 million people. It is noted that as part of the campaign, experts will explain the rules of behavior on the roads, primarily in schools and kindergartens.
