A woman died while swimming in a lake on the territory of a campsite in Bashkiria.

In the Baymak district of the Republic of Bashkortostan, a 37-year-old resident of the Chelyabinsk region died while swimming in a lake. The republican State Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia reports about this in its Telegram channel.

"From Lake Grafskoye near the village of Meryasovo, Baymak district, local residents pulled a dead 37-year-old woman out of the water. It is known that she came to rest from the Chelyabinsk region," the message says.

According to the <url> news agency, the woman was swimming in the lake on the territory of the Grafskoye campsite, but in an unequipped place for this. The tourist swam 70 m from the shore and at some point began to sink.

The circumstances of the tragedy are being established, operational and investigative measures are being carried out.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Bashkortostan on the morning of June 16, 43 people have died in the republic's reservoirs since the beginning of the year. Over the past week alone, 14 tragic cases have been recorded, three of them involving deaths of children.
