In St. Petersburg, a pensioner trusted the attackers, who introduced themselves as an investigator, lawyer and collector, after which she lost about two million rubles. This was announced on June 16 by a source of Izvestia.
"On June 11, an 85-year-old woman dictated her SNILS on the phone to a stranger who introduced herself as an employee of the administration. The next day, she was informed that she had become a victim of fraud," the source said.
After that, on June 12, three unidentified men knocked on the pensioner's apartment, one of whom was in the uniform of a law enforcement officer. The men introduced themselves as an investigator, lawyer and collector. They convinced the woman to "declare" the funds.
A St. Petersburg woman gave the scammers $ 25.6 thousand (about 2 million rubles). A criminal case has been opened into the incident.
A source told Izvestia on June 11 that a fraudster had convinced a pensioner from Moscow to give him more than 12 million rubles. The attacker asked the victim to collect and transfer all her savings and valuables to the courier, ostensibly to protect them. The pensioner gave the fraudster 4 million rubles, $84.8 thousand and €16.7 thousand, as well as a 10-gram gold bar.
