Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko and Russian Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov, together with children from the Artek International Children's Center, sent a message to their descendants in honor of the camp's 100th anniversary. The ceremony took place on June 16.

"We are now looking to the future with our eyes, we are confident that Russia will be strong, sovereign, prosperous and peaceful for the next 100 years," Chernyshenko said.

The Deputy Prime Minister recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin had instructed to create all conditions for the development of children's talents. He also urged the guys to be kind, patriotic and hardworking.

Kravtsov recalled that the first production line at Artek took place exactly 100 years ago, on June 16, 1925. The time capsule will have to be opened in 2125.

"Getting on this shift was one of my main desires, I've been dreaming about it for so long, and I did it," said Violetta, a schoolgirl who got into Artek.

On May 14, the Central Bank of Russia announced that it would issue a silver commemorative coin for the 100th anniversary of Artek. The three-ruble coin was released in the "Historical Events" series.
