The expert predicted the ruble exchange rate this week

In mid–June, price fluctuations are expected in the range of 77-81 rubles per dollar, 88-94 rubles per euro and 10.8-11.4 rubles per yuan, according to Spartak Sobolev, head of Research and Investment Strategies at Alfa-Forex. He told Izvestia about this on June 16.

On June 12, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation set the exchange rate of the American currency at 79 rubles, the European currency at 90.3 rubles, and the Chinese currency at 10.9 rubles. At the same time, according to the Moscow Stock Exchange, on June 16, the yuan is trading at 10.9 rubles.

"In mid-June, the ruble remains in a moderately strong position within the framework of a medium-term growing trend. Geopolitics has brought global oil prices back above $70 per barrel of Brent, providing additional support to the national currency," Sobolev concluded.

It is tending to rollback: the dollar is predicted to return to 84 rubles in June.

At the end of May, the US currency weakened to two-year lows, but geopolitics and demand can reverse the trend.

On June 5, Maxim Chirkov, associate professor of the Department of Economic Policy and Economic Measurements at GUU, said that the US rejection of the debt ceiling could lead to a sharp weakening of the dollar and an increase in inflation. This decision will only accelerate the build-up of the national debt, which will eventually provoke a devaluation of the US currency.
