In St. Petersburg, a five-year-old boy was bitten by a pig in a petting zoo. The child has already been vaccinated against rabies, the 78 TV channel reported on Monday, June 16.

At the zoo, a woman and her son were warned at the entrance that everything was safe and their pets did not bite. When the child started feeding the animals, one of the pigs bit him.

"There was a wound, we decided to ask for certificates, because without vaccinations, mumps can get rabies. We contacted the owner. At first, she said that she only answered after seven in the evening," the boy's mother said.

According to the parent, she had to decide whether to take the child for vaccination or not. After the victims had already arrived at the emergency room, the zookeeper nevertheless sent a video with a certificate.

"The young girls who work there said that they get bitten every day and there was nothing. Although before that they said that pigs don't bite," the woman added.

The minor was given the first injection on the recommendation of a doctor. The boy's father stayed in St. Petersburg to write a statement and find out for sure if the pigs had been vaccinated.
