The governor of the region, Vladimir Solodov, went hiking to the Blue Lakes, and then told about plans to improve the trail. The route is very popular among both locals and tourists.
According to the governor, quoted by KamchatkaMedia news agency, landscaping work will begin in July.
The Blue Lakes Nature Park is a landscape monument of nature of regional importance in Kamchatka. It is a system of three mountain lakes formed in a glacial basin. The unusual blue color is caused by the refraction of sunlight in clear water and on the bottom, which is covered with ice.
At the beginning of the year, it was reported that the governor of the Kamchatka Territory, Vladimir Solodov, demanded that the head of the regional center responsible for the improvement of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky be removed from his post. Solodov checked the condition of parks, squares, and landscaping facilities in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, after which he demanded that the mayor of the regional capital, Yevgeny Belyaev, dismiss the head responsible for the work of the administration's landscaping department.
