The range of registered domestic blood products is expanding in Russia. This was announced on June 16 at the Izvestia Medical Center during a press conference by Tatyana Gaponova, chief freelance transfusiologist at the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, First Deputy Director General of the National Research Institute of Hematology at the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.

"The range of registered domestic blood products is expanding. <...> Antiresus immunoglobulin is produced from plasma — this is necessary for women with Rh negative factor if the husband is Rh positive and the fetus, respectively, too. This Rhesus conflict can lead to hemolytic disease of newborns, to termination of pregnancy, miscarriage," said Gaponova.

According to her, this problem is solved with the help of special donated blood. It is performed as follows: Rhesus-negative donors, usually men, are injected with Rhesus-positive red blood cells as a vaccine. In this case, the human body begins to produce antiresus antibodies.

"This plasma is becoming the most valuable raw material for the production of antiresus immunoglobulin."

Earlier, on June 15, Pavel Trakhtman, MD, told Izvestia that the blood type nutrition methodology can be considered an anti-scientific theory, since at the genetic level, blood signs do not affect the absorption of nutrients by the human body.
