Four traffic lights have been optimized in two cities of the Moscow region. The measures were taken to improve the capacity of roads and reduce the likelihood of congestion, the press service of the regional Ministry of Transport reported on Monday, June 16.

The work took place last week, writes the online publication Podmoskovye Segodnya. The specialists of the regional Traffic Safety Center were engaged in setting up the traffic lights.

Thus, in Podolsk, the operating time of the pedestrian phase of two traffic lights on Ordzhonikidze Street at the Ordzhonikidze Plant and Severny District public transport stops was increased.

Also, near Krasnogorsk, road workers changed the operating mode of two traffic lights before exiting onto Novoskhodnenskoe Highway in Putilkovo and at the intersection with Spaso-Tushinsky Boulevard. This will increase the travel time along the Putilkovsky highway during rush hours.

Earlier in May, it was reported that in the Moscow region, a feature for recognizing the use of a phone while driving began to be massively introduced into photo-video recording systems. The fine for such a violation will amount to 1.5 thousand rubles.
