- In March and April, for the first time, the EU overtook the United States in terms of aid provided to Kiev.

In March and April, the states of the European Union (EU) provided more military aid to Ukraine than the United States for the first time in three years since the beginning of the conflict. This was announced on June 16 by the Institute of World Economy (IfW) in Kiel, Germany.
"For the first time since June 2022, Europe surpassed the United States in total military aid, amounting to €72 billion compared with €65 billion from the United States," the agency's website says.
It is reported that the Scandinavian countries and the United Kingdom have significantly increased their assistance to Kiev, while Germany has maintained a "more moderate level."
The study indicates that in March and April of this year, EU countries allocated €10.4 billion in military aid and €9.8 billion in humanitarian support. It is noted that this is the highest amount in two months since the beginning of the conflict.
A day earlier, The Telegraph newspaper reported that the US administration had cut military aid supplies to Ukraine. According to the newspaper, the country's Defense Minister Pete Hegseth also said that a peaceful settlement of the conflict meets the interests of Russia, Ukraine and the United States at the same time.
