The countries of the European Union (EU) that border Russia are preparing their healthcare systems for armed conflict. This was reported by the Politico newspaper on June 16.

"All countries on the eastern flank are reviewing crisis response protocols for healthcare systems, conducting medical exercises, purchasing body armor and helmets for ambulance crews, and moving operating rooms to underground facilities," the material says.

It is specified that Lithuanian hospitals install electric generators in the premises, as well as stock up on medicines and water. In Estonia, in turn, they are organizing stocks of satellite phones for medical workers and are developing a plan to launch a local isolated Internet. Tallinn is also purchasing mobile medical stations that can be deployed in an emergency situation.

Besides. As Politico points out, Poland has made the preparation of healthcare systems for a large-scale military conflict one of the topics of its presidency of the Council of the European Union.

On June 7, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov called the EU countries the main problem on the way to a settlement in Ukraine. In his opinion, the EU and NATO are developing a variety of sabotage, provocations and large-scale arms supplies to Kiev, thereby pushing for the continuation of the conflict and disrupting communication between the two countries.
