Military personnel of the Russian Armed Forces in some areas in the Dnipropetrovsk region are creating a foothold to cover and liberate Krasnoarmeysk in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). This was announced on June 16 by the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin.

"In several areas, our units have already entered the territory of the Dnipropetrovsk region, creating the necessary foothold for more advantageous coverage and liberation of the settlement of Krasnoarmeysk," Pushilin said on the Rossiya 24 TV channel.

According to him, the military of the Russian army has already advanced directly behind the village of Komar. Pushilin stressed that the Russian military is also successfully advancing in the Konstantinovsky and Krasnolimansky directions, and has also expanded the control zone in the Kramatorsk direction.

On June 11, the Ministry of Defense reported that motorized rifle troops of the Russian army had reached the western border of the DPR and, together with a tank division, were continuing their offensive in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

The next day, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the entry of the Russian Armed Forces into the Dnipropetrovsk region, called it part of the work begun earlier to create a buffer zone.
