- An explosive device of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was found embedded in a children's scooter in the Kursk region.

Military personnel of the engineering units of the North group in the Kursk region, continuing work on mine clearance of the territory liberated from the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), discovered an explosive device inside a child's scooter in one of the settlements. This was announced on June 16 by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
"There was a nondescript scooter. Come, take it, ride. But there was a crack in it, through which the internal wires were discovered. And upon a detailed examination of the scooter, we saw that there were explosives inside," said a sapper operator with the call sign Malaya.
He added that the sappers try to carry out all the work carefully, but this does not mean that it is not dangerous. The devices are disposed of at prepared sites, being taken away from residential areas.
When fleeing from the Kursk region, the Ukrainian Armed Forces militants left behind a large number of explosive objects. In order to find them, the Russian military uses the Stalker robotic mine clearance system in hard-to-reach areas. The equipment helps to neutralize anti-personnel and anti-tank mines.
On June 15, the Russian Ministry of Defense also showed footage of Russian sappers working on humanitarian demining of the Kursk border area. The engineering and sapper units of the Guards Airborne Assault Don Cossack Regiment from Feodosia of the Novorossiysk Guards Mountain Unit of the Airborne Forces are engaged in mine clearance. Sappers detect and professionally neutralize various explosive objects both Ukrainian and foreign production. During the mine clearance work, the engineering intelligence group is covered by paratroopers.
