- The head of the Pobeda Organizing Committee announced his detention at the Chisinau airport.
Alexey Petrovich, the head of the coordinating council of Russian compatriots in Moldova, as well as the Pobeda National Committee, was detained at the Chisinau airport. He announced this on Monday, June 16, in his Telegram channel.
According to Petrovich, his travel documents and passport were seized from him.
"Customs control has now been added to the additional inspection by border police officers, for which I was returned from the waiting room. Currently, I continue to follow the set route," said the head of the Pobeda committee.
According to him, border police officers and customs officers carry out orders from their superiors without enthusiasm, "sympathizing with and not sharing the arbitrariness prevailing in the country."
Earlier, on April 27, the leader of the Pobeda committee was detained while trying to fly out of Moldova. He was later released and allowed to leave, without specifying the reason for the additional search. On the same day, in an interview with Izvestia, Petrovich suggested that the Moldovan authorities were probably trying to intimidate him with regular detentions at the airport.
