Russians were named the main cyber threat in 2025

Fraudulent messenger calls became the main cyber threat for Russians in 2025. This was announced on June 16 by Igor Lyapunov, head of the Solar Group of companies.

According to him, more than 60% of Russians are aware of the importance of cyber protection, but it is the leakage of personal information that remains the main reason for the success of fraudsters. He noted that banks, telecom operators and government agencies are making significant efforts to combat this phenomenon.

According to the expert, even blocking popular messengers will not solve the problem: attackers will use other platforms to attack. He stressed the need for a comprehensive approach, from protecting personal data and increasing cyberbullying to controlling financial transactions and blocking illegal transfers.

Lyapunov also gave a personal example when he received a fraudulent call via messenger with an avatar imitating the image of his mother.

"They tried to make a deepfake, an older woman tried to tell me something," RIA Novosti quoted Lyapunov as saying.

After he indicated that he was talking to scammers, the call was interrupted.

The route was set up: fraudsters began to attack logistics using AI

The attackers generate fake checks and steal shipments.

On June 6, it was reported that the authorities plan to introduce measures to identify and block fraudulent materials created using artificial intelligence on the Internet. Valeria Rytvina, the founder of the Bloggers' Council, said that it is planned to involve companies specializing in the development of protection systems against cyber threats and hacker attacks to identify fraudulent AI materials.
