A suspect in the murder of Minnesota state legislator Melissa Hortman and her husband Vance Luther Bolter has been arrested and taken into custody. This was reported by the Associated Press (AP) on June 15, citing sources.

"The man suspected of murdering a Minnesota lawmaker, <... He was taken into custody," the agency said in a statement.

It took two weeks to find the suspect, the AP clarified. Information about the details of the arrest and further investigation is currently unavailable.

Earlier, on June 14, it was reported about the murder of Hortman and her husband. It was also noted that the survivors of the attack, state Senator John Hoffman and his wife were operated on. Then the head of the local police, Mark Bruli, noted that the suspect was on the run. It later turned out that the 57-year-old Bolter changed into a police uniform and came to Hoffman's house, after which he opened fire.
