Luca DeMeo, CEO of the French automaker Renault, will leave his post in mid-July to take up the position of executive director of the French design company Kering. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on June 15, citing sources.

"Luca de Meo has expressed his decision to step down in order to take on new challenges outside the automotive sector," Renault said in a statement.

According to the agency, if Demeo's move to Kering is confirmed, the Italian fashion house Gucci may be rebranded. Demeo will replace Kering CEO Francois-Henri Pinault.

Earlier, on February 27, 2024, the Renault Scenic electric crossover became the winner of the Car of the Year 2024 competition. Renault has won the Car of the Year award for the seventh time in the 61-year history of the competition.
