- The media learned about Trump's blocking of Israel's plan to eliminate the supreme leader of Iran

US President Donald Trump has "vetoed" Israel's plan to eliminate Iran's supreme leader Ali Khamenei. This was reported on June 15 by the Reuters news agency, citing American officials.
"Top U.S. officials were in constant contact with Israeli officials. <...> The Israelis reported that they had the opportunity to eliminate the top Iranian leader, but Trump rejected this plan," the newspaper writes.
At the same time, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did not confirm the Reuters report on Trump's ban on the elimination of Khamenei.
"There are a lot of false reports about conversations that didn't happen. And I won't go into that. But I can tell you that we are doing what is necessary. And we will do it," he said in an interview with Fox News.
Yesterday, The Wall Street Journal reported that the Israeli side does not rule out the possibility of eliminating the supreme leader of Iran. Later, Channel 12 political commentator Amit Segal said that such a development was possible, but would depend on a variety of conditions.
On June 13, Israel launched a preemptive strike against Iran and declared a state of emergency. Netanyahu said that the purpose of the military operation is to strike at Iran's nuclear infrastructure. In response, Iran launched several waves of missile attacks.
