Romanian border guards detained a Ukrainian couple with $1.4 million hidden

Romanian border police have detained a Ukrainian couple who tried to enter the country with $1.4 million taped to their bodies and hidden under their clothes. This was reported on June 15 by the newspaper "Country.ua" in his Telegram channel.

It is noted that the detainees were a 49-year-old citizen of Ukraine and his 39-year-old wife with dual Romanian-Ukrainian citizenship. At the same time, the man was carrying $810 thousand, while his wife was carrying $590 thousand.

The law enforcement officers confiscated the discovered funds, and fined each of the detainees 15,000 lei ($3.4 thousand).

On June 9, four conscripts were detained in Ukraine who were trying to avoid mobilization and cross the border with Romania in a cattle truck. It was noted that a double bottom was made in the vehicle, in which the evaders were hiding.
