The Job of Russia portal has published employment ratings for graduates of colleges and universities in the country. They are compiled separately for each field of study of students, taking into account the number of applicants and their salary level.

"The ratings were compiled on behalf of the President of Russia [Vladimir Putin] based on data from state information systems. They do not evaluate educational organizations, they only demonstrate the level of employment of graduates in the second year after graduation based on objective data — information about employment and salary levels," explained Dmitry Platygin, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation.

Such ratings are designed to help applicants objectively assess the prospects in the labor market, and to give universities and colleges the opportunity to see data on all educational organizations in their field and borrow successful practices. The portal will also be updated every year until April 1.

Thus, 81 ratings were formed in eight fields of study: for example, mathematics and natural sciences, engineering, technology and technical sciences, healthcare and medical sciences, agriculture and agricultural sciences, as well as social sciences, education and pedagogical sciences, humanities and culture.

In addition, at least four ratings are formed within each direction by level of education — bachelor's degree, specialty, master's degree, residency and by the number of graduates. At the same time, if a university prepares students in several areas at once, it will be present in different ratings.

Dmitry Afanasyev, Deputy Minister of Science and Education of Russia, clarified that this initiative is an indicator of assessing the contribution to the Russian labor market and the extent to which graduates of educational organizations are in demand by employers compared to others.

On June 9, Alexander Khvostov, Director of Relations with the educational community at MAXIMUM Education, told Izvestia that it is possible to apply to universities before July 25 if additional entrance tests are not required. However, for applicants to specialties where there are creative, professional or specialized tests, the deadline is July 20.
