Trump called on Israel and Iran to conclude an agreement
Israel and Iran must conclude an agreement. This was announced on June 15 by US President Donald Trump on his Truth Social network.
"Iran and Israel must make a deal. <... > Let's make the Middle East great again!" he said in a message.
At the same time, the American leader clarified that negotiations between the parties are needed to "bring reason, cohesion and sanity" to the countries, as well as to make a decision on the cessation of hostilities.
The day before, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the country was attacking Iran "with the clear support of Trump and the American people." He also stressed that Iran is a common opponent of the Israeli and American sides.
On June 13, Israel launched a preemptive strike against Iran and declared a state of emergency. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the purpose of the military operation is to strike at Iran's nuclear infrastructure. In response, Iran launched several waves of missile attacks.
