A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. It is noted that the Russian military liberated the village of Ulyanovsk in the DPR. In the area of responsibility of the Center group of forces, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) lost up to 495 soldiers, as well as two US-made M113 armored personnel carriers, a Cossack armored car, seven vehicles and two field artillery guns, including a 155-mm Krab self-propelled gun made in Poland.

Units of the Vostok group of forces continued to advance into the depth of the enemy's defenses, defeating manpower and equipment in the areas of the settlements of Novopavlovka, Filia, Dnipropetrovsk region, Gulyai-Pole, Poltava, Temirovka, Zaporizhia region, and Zaporizhia, Donetsk People's Republic. The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost more than 170 soldiers, three armored combat vehicles, nine vehicles, two artillery pieces and a counter-battery radar station.

"Two guided aerial bombs and 128 aircraft—type unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down by air defense systems," the Defense Ministry said.

In addition, the Russian military defeated the workshops for the production of unmanned aerial vehicles and their storage sites, ammunition depots, as well as temporary deployment points for units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, armed formations of nationalists and foreign mercenaries in 143 districts. The Russian Armed Forces also hit a refinery in the city of Kremenchuk, Poltava region, which supplies fuel to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Donbas.

In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, 663 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 63,633 unmanned aerial vehicles, 611 anti-aircraft missile systems, 23,906 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,572 multiple rocket launchers, 26,219 field artillery guns and mortars, 36,871 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
