The crew commander of the Air India Boeing 787 Dreamliner plane that crashed in India told dispatchers about the lack of thrust during takeoff. This was reported on June 15 by India Today magazine with reference to the crew commander.

"Messages like 'thrust not reached,' 'falling,' and 'distress call,' were sent by an Air India pilot when the plane crashed into a medical dormitory a few minutes after takeoff," the publication said.

It is clarified that the pilot sent a distress message to the Ahmedabad Air Traffic Control (ATC) service before the crash. The plane crashed a few minutes after it took off.

The plane crash in Ahmedabad, India, occurred on June 12. There were 242 passengers on board, including two pilots and 10 flight attendants. The plane crashed into the building of a dormitory for doctors. According to NDTV, the crash could have been caused by a collision with birds. One person survived the plane crash, a 40—year-old British citizen.

On June 14, the death toll in the crash of the Boeing 787 increased to 274 people.
