There are many mines and unexploded ordnance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) left in the border areas of the Kursk region. The Russian Defense Ministry showed footage of Russian sappers working on humanitarian demining of the area on Sunday, June 15.

The engineering and sapper units of the Guards Airborne Assault Don Cossack Regiment from Feodosia of the Novorossiysk Guards Mountain Airborne Unit are engaged in mine clearance. Sappers detect and professionally neutralize various explosive objects both Ukrainian and foreign production.

During the mine clearance work, the engineering intelligence group is covered by paratroopers. Their task is to protect their comrades from attacks by Ukrainian drones.

"In mining, the main thing is not to rush, to think over every move, every step," explained a senior sapper with the call sign Afghan.

He noted that the enemy does not think about the consequences for the local population. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are mining houses and fields, territories where peaceful people will live later.

Earlier, on June 10, the Russian Defense Ministry told about Corporal Ruslan Aglyamov, who, as part of an engineering unit, performed the task of clearing mines and searching for explosive objects in the territories liberated from the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Russian fighter acted as quickly and covertly as possible in the face of the constant threat from Ukrainian drones and defused an anti-tank and several anti-personnel mines installed using tripwires.
