Over the past 48 hours, Israel has appealed to the administration of US President Donald Trump to join the confrontation with Iran. This was reported on June 15 by the Axios portal, citing Israeli officials.

"Israel has been asking the Trump administration for the past 48 hours to join the war with Iran in order to eliminate its nuclear program," the publication says.

It is noted that Israel currently does not have the bombs necessary to destroy the Iranian uranium enrichment facilities at Fordo, which are located underground. The entry of the United States into the conflict could solve this problem.

"A direct attack on Iran, even if the US involvement is limited to bombing a single facility, will draw the US directly into the war," the article says.

On June 13, Israel launched a preemptive strike against Iran and declared a state of emergency. In this regard, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the purpose of the military operation is to strike at Iran's nuclear infrastructure.
