The US State Department has urged American citizens to leave Iran urgently. A message with instructions was posted on the social network X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, June 14.

"U.S. citizens should not travel to Iran for any reason and should leave Iran immediately if they are there. U.S. citizens who cannot leave Iran should be prepared to take shelter in place for extended periods," the publication says.
