Lukashenko spoke about the dangers of frequent consumption of potatoes

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said on Saturday, June 14, that frequent consumption of potatoes can harm health, but there are no problems with it in the republic.
"If we eat potatoes, as they say in tiktok, we won't be skinny. Once a week, two at most, and then baked, mashed potatoes," BelTA quoted him as saying.
Lukashenko said that the first potato crop is already appearing in Belarus, and the problem with it is disappearing.
"Make sure that there are no [problems] next year. Now I've called [agricultural producers]: you harvest so much, so much, so much. Keep as much as you need in reserve, but keep enough," he said.
Earlier, on May 28, Lukashenko called for growing a lot of potatoes for Belarus and the Russian Federation. In addition, he added that in this way the country will help "Russian brothers."
